I've been using ZAPro version 4.5 & version 5 on different machines with no problems. I've seen systems with problems after both Norton & McAfee firewall installations & I didn't like the set-up procedure - registration etc. for Sygate.

I've heard that the best firewall is a hardware one.
I use a Linksys firewall/router and Norton Firewall 2005. No problems with either at all.

I have SP-2 installed here, and I am running the free version of Zone Alarm. It has always run flawlessly for me.... no problems at all.

The best one is the one that you feel comfortable and safe with.

I use a router with built in Firewall and Sygate Personal FW on all computers behind the router.

Well, I am not sure of which is best as I have tried ZoneAlarm with no prob too but my friends says the product is not good!! For Sygate where most people recommend, during the process of installing, I got problem saying what...... cannot added to my registry and this turn me turn... huh...

Norton Internet Security -->according to poll is not the best so I never used it

Mcafee --> People tends to say it slows down the system!!

Emm......... So I am not confused on which is the best! huh.....

If you found Zone Alarm good, then use it. You don't let your friends decide which computer to use, right?

I have used ZoneAlarm for 5-6 years and never had any real problems with it. In the early versions the True Vector drivers were a bit flakey and their uninstall program didn't clean out all the files but that's all been fixed now. I'm very satisfied with it.

The only problem with ZA is that it's not as configurable as some of the subscription firewalls. I've heard that on some games the port-forwarding doesn't work very well and you need to upgrade to ZA-Pro to get full functionality.
