Ditto. According to to all major trade reviews, NOD32 is by far the most reliable AV software.

This not to say that other AV products are not effective. They are. But if you're going to pay for antivirus software, NOD32 is competitively priced with the others. Go with the consensus.

The most expensive AV is no better than a free one, what is most important is to have your virus definitions up to date @ any give time.

NOD32 has its cons too just like any other AV, but this does not imply that it is not good as I have used it myself.

If you can afford to spend good money on an AV program by all means go for it (software developers have bills to pay too), but for the most part what protects your behind is nothing but your web habits and your ability to anticipate proactive measures.

Every point Sabertooth and Solarian writes is true. There's an old saying: The poison is the dose.

With antivirus software, one could also say: The definitions are the protection.

We use Kaspersky. It's simply a choice which fits our needs and preferences. It doesn't mean that other AV software--whether free or subscription--are not as effective. It's just a product which has served us well.

Shop around. Then stick with what works for you.

Word is Nod 32 passes the tests with the best grades, so IF you need to pay for an AV go there. I use AVG by Grisoft, and I'm quite happy with it.
