OK, I've trying to run navdx.exe in dos, but it tells me there are no definition in this text:

Loading navdx, please wait...
Using virus definitions from C:\...~1\common~1\symant~1\virusd~1\20021231.005
norton antivirus was unable to locate it's required settings files.
Please make sure the product is installed correctly or use /OPT:[directory] to specify the directory where the settings are located.

I've had this problem ever since I installed Directx 8.X, where r my virus definitions right now, IF I HAVE ANY?!?!?!

hello Koby,
problem with the "liveupdate" option with Norton is very well known, this is nothing connected with the new DirectX 8.0 you recently installed on your system...
Norton is working with a sort of active protection added when you install the program for the first time, if for any reason you change the file Win.ini, or system.ini, Norton loose the contact with your computer.
Two way to get out of this problem:
1) Try to download manually from Symantec web site the last update definitions, it rebuilt all the database of "liveupdate " feature...
2) If it don't works, then you need to reinstall the program from the CDrom without erasing the present program. That will work for sure....
I remember you to never install any program as update as soon as it is added on market, as for exemple the DirectX 8.0, at least for a minimum of 6 months, time needed to resolve all bugs possibles, I am using myself version 7.0 which is perfect actually, but now you can't change anymore, so you will need to reinstall DirectX 8.0 again in the next 6 months....
