Hi,
Could somebody please help with my problem, ie. "Whats the best FREE trojan remover?" in the market place. I have been using Anti Trojan but that has ceased and I cannot get the new free (a2 Free) one to work.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi there, I'm afraid that there is not much in the way of free trojan removal tools. I know of SwatIt! But according to other views around the forum it has either lost it's luster or no longer works at all. I have not tried it so I cannot tell you for sure.

As far as a2 Free goes, the last I checked it wasn't quite ready for release. Once it is, I will give it a try. I have to admit that the paid version looks very promising when it is ready, but the free version may work just as well to.

There are however many paid versions of Trojan removal programs to choose from, TDS3 being considered the best. If you would like, most of these have a trial period, usually 30 days.

I will warn you that if you decide to choose to try TDS3, it can be a very confusing program. There is a wealth of features available to you and the cost is not much. It is also very, very, slow when doing a full scan.

I am actually surprised that a decent free program has not been made in this area, there are plenty of very good anti-spyware ones. I will try to search for the A2Free remover to see if it is available now, and if so, how to get it working.

Hey Daisy, exactly where did you find A2? I just did a Google on it and got nowhere. A search in here on the forums got nowhere also, and these forums are where I found it to begin with.

Hey dw226.

Here's the address for the a2 website.

http://www.a-2.org/en/

That site gives a description of the program and a download link.

JB.

Gosh, half the program is missing from the free version, lol. Me thinks if I go with that one I'd have no choice but to pay. Thanks for the link :-)

Well, heck, if it works might as well give it a chance.

Well, I gave it a chance, that's the last chance it will get too. I install the thing, try to continue setup, and it nags me to register it for the free trial of the paid version.

I decided to skip that part and guess what? It won't let me go past it. So, I try to close out the setup and decide later what I want, and the little piece of (insert undesirable word here) stalls my computer. I try to restart the computer, it won't let me. I have to turn the (insert another undesirable word here) thing off to get out of it.

I have to see something different before I let that thing back on here.

This came through the updater today :

"Downloading aČ Context Menu Extension ...
Fixed a serious bug in the uninstall routine."

I tried this program only because I saw it
is written by the same person who wrote "ANTS"
some years ago..

A2 free,
I still cannot get it to work via my system. I get the message "Cannot connect to the account server. Please check your internet settings". I have tried it via 2 email addresses and 2 different passwords supplied by them! Any ideas extra to what is on the a2 forum?
Thanks
