Got a virus in the mail(I think that's where it came from). I can't pull up the task manager when I hit CTRL ALT DEL. The icon pops up in the upper right for about a second then disapears. When I try to run a search in IE and I use words like virus or antivirus the browser automaticaly shuts down. Same with netscape. I have run the fix for mydoom from norton but it doesn't come up with anything. I tried installing norton antivirus but it crashes. Does anyone know what this thing is?

Hello Haffner, I would say in your case, there is no many choice now.... If it is almost impossible to get any information from your anti-virus program, and no way to connect to internet in order maybe to have a general scan "online", I suggest you reinstall all your OS Win XP.

Download HijackThis and save to a new folder called ‘HijackThis’. Double click on hijackthis.exe. Press Scan, and wait, Save the log, (the ‘scan’ button changes to ‘save log’) Edit>select All > copy and paste its contents here. ** Don't fix anything yet. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential for your system or for the log reader to resolve the problem** Post the full log including header info in reply.
