Specs: Windows 7, Core2Duo - 4Gigs
My computer has been doing very strange things later, and I am worried it could have a virus. I went to task manager and I saw a strange process taking up 100% of my CPU all the time, it was svchost. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I am using Windows 7

It is a possibility, however svchost is ussually present in windows 7. I would recommend utilizing malwarebytes malware scanner. also you can download a svchost scanner, to see if its malicious software. I would recommend doing a google search for this tool

The svchost.exe process acts as a host for system services, some of which are essential while many others are very important for normal operation of the computer. It is normal to have quite a few of these processes running, the exact number depending on system configuration. Normally they require very little CPU time. If one is very high this is a good indicator of malware.

Do not confuse svchost.exe with scvhost.exe. The latter is malware.
