OK. I have had this problem for some time now. almost everytime i open as page on explorer, a message comes up saying something about unexpected quantifier, script error, or RPC stubs and asking me if i wanted to "debug". I thought it was caused by a programme called Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 thatmy sis. installed on the cmp. so i uninstalled that but it didn't solve my prob. Now, Recently I downloaded something called 3dmark2001 which is supposed to be a directx compliant 3d hardware accelerater. it was 38mb and took 4ever to download. But when i tried to install it on my comp, a warning message came up saying "Uncompatible RPC stubs, setup will terminate now". I also have borland c ++ on my comp. Will uninstalling this solve my problem? If yes, will it reoccur if I reinstall borland c ++? What should I do?

Let's start straight. 3dmark2001 - A benchmarking program. It is suposed to tell you how capable (i.e. fast) your hardware is. It does not make anything fast or slow, it merely measures hardware. The other programs are used for making Windows programs. Try this patch program: http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/Patch/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.EXE The entire problem is explained here. Otherwise, use WindowsUpdate to get the latest version of IE. This is a manual approach. I steal it from here: "Another way to do this is within Windows and does not require you to do anything in DOS. Press Start>>Run and type in sfc then hit OK; the System File Checker utility will open. Select the second option (Extract one file from installation disk), then, in the white field, enter oleaut32.dll. Press Start (in the SFC box...NOT the Windows Start button), and in the next window, where it says Restore From, enter either c:\windows\options\cabs or the path to the CD (depending on whether the installation files are on your hard drive), then press OK. Once it's done, you'll be prompted to reboot"

OK, so I tried the patch, now the problem is solved but it takes 4 ever to open a folder on my computer, explorer or manual. why?

"why?" I cannot answer that. Slow-downs in Windows are not always explainable.
