Comment: On reboot, my system keeps looking for back_time.exe. I have recently removed over 500 trojan/malware/adware files. I run Spybot, Adaware and Hijack. My system clock is now way off, despite resetting. Is this a necessary file or a trojan? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Echoe

Reply: (edit)Hi Echoe, I only found the following regarding backtime.exe not back_time.exe: #:32 [backtime.exe] FilePath : C:\Program Files\Backup Plus\ BasePriority : Normal FileSize : 184 KB FileVersion : 6.00.0008 ProductVersion : 6.00.0008 Copyright : Copyright CompanyName : AVANTRIX Inc. FileDescription : Backup Plus Timed Backups Manager InternalName : BackTime OriginalFilename : BackTime.Exe ProductName : Backup Plus Timed Backups Manager Do you have this product installed? if not disable it and see if it affects any programs. Due to the fact that I cannot find anything about it I doubt it is malicious. Avantrix Web Site: http://www.avantrix.com/ Regards John

Reply: (edit)Thanks for this, John. I have had this program, (demo version) and have tried to uninstall in numerous times, but it doesn't like to go away. It helps to know that this is not a dangerous file or one necessary to my system clock. Thanks again, Echoe

Reply: (edit)With that much junk on the machine and things not working, its time to plan a "clean intall" of your system to get rid of all the little leftover problems.
