This program is listed in my ZoneAlarm in the program control and usually it doesn't do anything. A couple of times it has tried to access the internet but was automatically blocked. I also have done a computer search for this and didn't find anything that looked like it was related to it.
I have question markes for that program because I don't know what it is. I didn't remember blocking it myself. I tried to do a property check on it but it says that it can't find this program.
What concerns me that it has been automatically blocked twice yesterday from an out going connection and is noted as a high alert. Why is it trying to connect to the internet and what does this program do? Is it an important and needed program?

Am not familiar with that AU Magic but a quick guess would be it may related to your video card.
It sounds like it is trying to "phone home" when you access the Web and it wants to get "out" and do who knows what.
As long as it is BLOCKED by ZONE ALARM, don't worry.
Make sure ALL the check marks are Xs for that program, especially the ACCESS and SERVER permissions.

Hi there Tammy1949.
I went into my ZAPro just out of curiosity and I too have that same AUMagic there. I checked and it has 0 KB's and when I clicked on it's properties, it also told me that windows couldn't find it. I just put all "X's" there and will wait and see what happens.
I too would like to know what the heck it is.

I have seen AU MAgic around the end of January and have also blocked it with my ZoneAlarm. According to the ZoneAlarm forum board it seems like nobody has a straight answer since last time I checked on the topic a couple of weeks ago when I was determined to find out what AU Magic was/did.
All that I could get from reading at different sites was that it may have something to do with Windows automatic updates. Sorry for being so vague.
If anybody knows or can give some input please post.

I was just thinking that au magic might be the automatic update for this zonealarm program. I have mine to automatically update and it never has asked me to give it the ok to update.
I have the au magic set to ask me but I also have it set inside the program to do the automatic updates.

I have ZoneAlarm Pro and I did some seaarching in their forum and I found out what we all wanted to know about AU Magic.
Here is what I found in their forum.AUMagic is Windows Automatic Update
The results showed the text AUMagic exists in the following files:
USER.DAT
WUAUBOOT.EXE
WUAUCLT.EXE
AUHOOK.DLL
In setupapi.log, it states the following:
Munged cmdline: -AUMagic
EXE name: C:\WINDOWS\WUAUCLT.exe
