Hi i did an online virus scan at "ttp://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp" or something like that. I dicided to do a scan cos when i went to open kazaa it said "PE-SHEILD: HEURISTIC VIRUS ALERT: file was altered maybe it was infected by a virus" and nero wont work either so i did the scan and it said i have over 300 files infected with PE PARITE.A and when i clicked clean it froze so i just need to know how bad it is and how to fix it

For removal, see...
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.pinfi.htmlAlso know as :-
Win32.Parite.a [KAV], W32/Pate.a [McAfee], Win32.Pinfi.A [CA], PE_PARITE.A [Trend], W32/Parite-A [Sophos], Win32/Parite.A [RAV]W32.Pinfi is a memory-resident polymorphic virus that will infect the .exe and .SCR files. This virus is also capable of spreading via mapped drives and network shares.
You also have to mess about in the registry to reverse the changes this virus has made.

what do you mean mess around in the registry nothing bad is it cos i know a little about computers but not much ?

See the link I posted. Symantec say you have to reverse the changes in the registry that this virus has made.
Tinkering in the registry can stop Windows from loading up and running if you get it wrong. I am not familiar with deleting stuff in there & making changes.Someone with a bit more experience may be able to give you better advice than I.

what i want to know is will the infected files have to be reinstalled? or can i clean them? if i can clean them could you recommend a free anti virus

There are a few free antivirus porgrams you can try like AVG and Gladiator (in beta).
But you should follow Symantec's removal instructions as virus removal is not hit and miss, it's very specific, or lest you leave part of the virus behind to haunt you.
Editing the registry takes precision and caution, and if you accidently change a system file or something else important...BAM! maybe no boot on next Windows start, so read up on editing the registry before geting started to get an understanding of the overall picture of why you need to edit the registry and exactly what it will do to your PC.
It's not impossible to do, but just needs to be done correctly.

the only problem is i tryed getting rid of it with avg and it cant clean the files witch means i have to delete all the files that are infected witch is the whole computer e.g Notepad, taskmanager and heaps of other important programs and if i follow Symantec's removal instructions i need to have a copy of the antivirus software witch cost money and unfortunatly im not old enough to get a job :(

Honesetly, 300 infected files! Can't be cleaned!!
That's reformat and reinstall Windows time, UNLESS you can go the Symantec route with an AV scanner.

Download and update the trial version of Nod32.
Nod32Once installed and updated, boot into safe mode and Click Start > Run > type regedit and click OK
Click the + next to the following keysHKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
Current VersionScroll down and click on the Explorer
folder. In the right hand window locate PINF, right click on it and delete.Close regedit and run a full system scan.
Reboot to windows.

300 files can be cleaned and repaired since the virus doesnt do that much. They are simple and I do recommand the registry option as it did work for me. I repair things that way a lot and i am knowledgeable in the registry department. it sucks to be infected but if you follow advice given you wont be for long hun. Good luck to you.

The page you visited "Http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp" ha a little "auto clean" check box, select it before scan !
