Recently discovered this virus on my computer called hijack.startmenu. What exactly does this do to a computer? What potential problems do I need to look out for? ( have gotten rid of it already). Thanks.

If I could find a straightforward simple answer on google when I did that, I wouldn't be asking. I admit to not being the most computer literate person in the world,and the sites I found didn't make much sense to me, just wondering if someone could give me a simple answer in a way I could understand.
