My AV software is AVG and I am running XP Pro as administrator. It keeps complaining that I have a Trojan with this message:
is found in file C:\System Volume Information\_restore{592CDDE5-5113-4982-8355-1
To Remove this virus, please run AVG for Windows. ----------------
However, when I run AVG on the entire HD it comes up clean. I think that this file stores system backup info which means that if I were to restore my system I would get the virus but I do not have it already. Is it ok to delete the file?
I was unable to find the system restore option anywhere in My computers properties. I decided to just go ahead and delete all the data in my C:\System Volume Information\_restore{592CDDE5-5113-4982-8355-1 folder. I hope this will not cause me any problems later but for now the messages have stopped popping up. Thanks,
-Geo

I just got the same message, but mine is located in C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\A0167920.CPY My anti-virus can not remove this. Is there a way to remove it manually? Shutting off system restore is only a tempoary solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
