The bug that hit my computer last week looked like a spark dropping out of my open window onto the taskbar. I kept getting hard drive not found so I reset the bios and rebooted to windows where I saw sparkey again and then no drive on next boot! Do any of you know what bug I had. I am still trying lot's of AV programs now.. Norton pro 2004 had to be removed as it made my system buggy with a lock-up every 60-seconds, random floppy checks with no floppy, & a very long boot cycle..

Trying the free AVG-6.0 next (now) & run's a lot better!

Norton AV also prevented my dialup connection to connect earlier tonight and led me down a blind alley with the following message:

Error: "APWCMD.DLL file is linked to missing export APWUTIL.DLL. . ." and "Norton AntiVirus was unable to scan your computer for infections" (3019,1)

Situation:
After installing Norton AntiVirus 2004 (NAV), you receive the error message "APWCMD.DLL file is linked to missing export APWUTIL.DLL: ApwReadNavopts@4." If you run a manual virus scan of the computer, you also see the error: "Norton AntiVirus was unable to scan your computer for infections because a critical error occured during the scan." In the lower-left corner of the window, you see the numbers 3019,1.

Solution:
Symantec is investigating this problem. The cause is unknown, and there is no solution at this time. This document will be updated when new information becomes available or a solution is found.

If you would like create a Norton AntiVirus file of this error to help Symantec product development resolve this issue, follow these steps. We recommend that you print these instructions and refer to them throughout this process.

Bla Bla Bla........
Norton gave me this message after a clean install on a fresh drive, then the problem disappeared on reboot but Norton refused to allow my computer from dialing the Internet!

Does this mean the Internet is a Virus?
Or is Norton? lol
