I had a trojan virus which I have tried to delete, but I don't think it is working. Every time I type into a search engine and then try to click on a link I am directed to a completely different, totally off topic site.

Try downloading a software package called malwarebytes from the internet. Then scan your system in safe mode. Hope that helps.
