Comment:
I used GParted (GNU Partition Editor) to delete my windows partition and then I reinstalled vista. By deleting that partition, was that (in effect) a low-level format? In other words, would that have been effective in eliminating any malware that was on my harddrive? I tried to use killdisk and darik's boot and nuke, but for some reason I couldn't get the ISOs to burn on either(maybe my something is wrong with my burn-laser thing). So I had to use a copy of GParted that someone had given me. I thought that maybe by deleting the partition, that would be a low-level format, or something similar. So did my deleting that partition with GParted, get rid of any malware that was on my harddrive? Thanks!
Not necessarily so. Partition & low-level format are two different animals. Partitions are walls that you put up and take down from the HD. Format is like a bulldozer that raze everything on the HDDs including partitions.
