Trend Micro PC-cillin is the best Anti Virus thats around now! It have won lots of awards, it has everything that you need to get the maximum security!
I wouldnt recommend you using a free anti virus as they dont come with all the required utilities, and security tools, Trend micro is MUCH MORE BETTER than bloody USELESS Norton, Norton Anti Virus is just a Brand that everyone thinks its good so they go ahead and buy it, NORTON managed to gain its popularity BUT not its Effective virus removal from a very powerful marketing tool which is known as: "Word of Mouth!"
Even Microsoft uses Trend Micro to scan files before attaching them to an email message when using Hotmail. read more about Trend Micro Internet Security over here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/desktop/pc-cillin/evaluate/overview.htm

Trend Micro also offer a FREE online virus scan with free virus removal if a virus is detected. Free Online scan can be made over here:

Enjoy :-)

"I wouldnt recommend you using a free anti virus "

Well free is better than nothing for some who cannot afford to dish out cash for a antivirus !!!! "As long as people learn to keep it up to date".
Personally I use Kaspersky, and on my sons old P3 I put my AVG Pro Av on it, and both work excellent
I used PC-Cillin years ago and I wasnt impressed, but havent heard much about it lately.

This is what the review of Trend AV was at PC World. It finished in 9th place, AVG was 10th.
"Former Best Buy performed poorly in heuristics and zoo tests but has the best interface of the bunch."

While I do use Trend (Albeit the Client Server Version) and recomend it, I don't know that you actually made a single, valid point in your diatribe. Was there a reason for the post or were you ust bored and trying to start a bunch of flames?

I'm running the world's best AV on one PC. It never gets updated, never give you operational problems or anything to aggravate your peace of mind. It's never in danger of getting infected ever no matter what i do. Do you know what it is?

That's half of the two capt. The other is that it never visit any sites except for intranet links. IMO any AV is good enough if you use common senses and know what you're doing, what you downloads, how you control your curosity and you don't patronize nasty sites particularly P2P and the forbidden ones you are OK.

Trend is pretty good, but not the best.Kav is one,and so is nod,and fsecure,macfee..norton used to be one of the best when norton was norton, and not owned by symantec. They gained so much popularity when it was norton and it proved itself.I think its still a better av then the free ones.I still think that the crooks always have the upperhand over the av companies. There is bugs right now that go undetected by all av`s,and what do you do when this happens? Now I just read that within 2 weeks of vista being revealed that there was allready viruses for it.so this is never going to end.I dont think vista is going to be any safer then xp is not.there are to many people lifes are being destroyed because of all these crooks are doing with windows pc`s.They do this becasue windows is so easy to comprimize. There are kids 11,12,13,14, that can easily comprimize a windows machine.so what does that tell you?I guess us windows users have to deal with it if we want to use there os.

This is pretty funny. I switched from AVG years ago when it decided not to let me get updates and I've been with Avast since then and haven't had a virus slip through yet (touch wood) It works great and gives online updates as you surf as well as real-time protection. If a virus is about to get on your machine you get an immediate alert and get the option of what to do.
Of course I also use Sygate personal firewall and that helps alot too.
A friend of mine has trend micro and it has AV and Firewall all in one....in my opinion isn't half as good as what I have. Enough said...FREE is good sometimes if used properly

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
