after scanning my pc using blueyonder pc guard, this virus repeatedly came up, and pc guard recommended that i delete the files as it went along. which ended up taking ages and the pc guard said my pc was fine again. i deleted over a thousand files, and none of them were mine (id never set eyes on them before, it was like someone elses pc was in mine). i am the only person to use my pc, yet there was porn files and music id never heard of and alsorts of files that i was deleting.
when i turned my pc on today, at startup the first thing to appear on my screen was system32. which i know enough to know this isnt a good sign.
then when i run pcguard again today, it found another 15 files that had this w32/vb.nq virus, and once again the files were not mine.
please if anyone knows what is happening and can i get rid of it for free, please please reply.

Run this free online scan from Panda

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to the desktop, then copy/paste into the text editor and post it.

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions reboot into Safe Mode and run Ewido

When the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop.

Please reboot into normal mode and post the ewido log.

Please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. You can download Hijack This at this link http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ then place it into a folder of it's on, such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed.

Once saved double click HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents into the text editor at this forum.

Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.

Looks like we got the Ewido log but still need the Hijak This log.

If you have trouble getting HT into it's own folder follow these instructions:

To get HT into it's own folder go to start>my computer>local disk(c:)>File>New>Folder> a new folder will appear with the name box highlighted>type "HJT" without the quotes(or ever what you want to name it) then click a blank spot on the screen.

Download HT,in the file download box click "save", then in the "save in" box click the drop down arrow to the right of the box>click local disk(c:)>click the HJT folder you created >click save. Once it downloads close the window.

Go to start>my computer>local disk (c:)>double click the HJT folder>double click the HJT.zip file>click the HT folder. Run Hijack This and click the "do a system scan and save a logfile" button, then in the notepad window click edit>select all>file>copy. Then paste that into the comments box that you use to post messages on the forum.

hello, i went into hijak this and it told me to download a thing called adaware alert. i have no idea what or where "hijak this" is but the only thing on this page was adaware alert. which i did and it scanned my pc, but when the list of faults came up, it wouldnt let me copy them at all. im stuck.

does any one know from the first copy and paste i did (further up) what is wrong with my pc, and how can i fix it?
