Run this free online scan from Panda

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to the desktop, then copy/paste into the text editor and post it.

Run this free online scan from Kaspersky http://kaspersky.com/kos/english/kavwebscan.html
Click Accept
When the updates are finished downloading, click Next, Scan Settings
Under Scan using the following antivirus database:, select extended
Make sure the Scan Archives and Scan Mail Bases options are selected as well. Click OK
Click My Computer and wait for the scan to finish
Click Save Report As. Under Save as type:, select Text file. Save this log to your Desktop and post a copy of it here.

I am currently having a problem finding the W32.Blackmal.E@mm virus on my computer. Every night, my gmail account sends out 1-8 emails to everyone in my address book with the same email titles, subject matter, and attachments as listed on symantec's site about this virus. This even happens when my computer is off all night. I have run the symantec tool to rid my system of the virus and i cannot find it. I ran symante corporate with the latest updates and it does not find it. I also tried doing the manual removal on the symantec website by deleting the individual files and registry keys, but there are none in the specified locations. I am pretty intelligent with computers being an electrical engineer and have been able to find every other virus I've come across on my system or friends. This is mind boggling b/c it doesn't seem to be in my system, it seems to just be on my gmail. I did originally use mozilla thunderbird occasionally to view gmail, but I have deleted that to see if it was part of the problem and the emails are still being sent out. I have even changed my gmail password. Please help if you have any suggestions.

Thanks

Blackmal.E is one bad virus. YOU NEED TO GET RID OF IT BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH. this is because it deletes a selection of files at the start of each month. important work could be lost and you seriously want to get rid of it. Just wipe your computer and reinstall OS before end of month. It is almost certain it will get rid of the virus but before you do back up all the files you want to keep as wiping the computer literally means wiping everything the computer knows.
