my computer just got infected with the w32.pinfi virus.
im not smart enough to try and go through all the trouble of getting rid of it, so i am willing to reformat. i have a few questions though.

first, i was just about to get a cd burner installed and i would like to save the thousands of mp3s i have along with some pictures. and i was wondering since they are not .exe or .scr files if it would be safe to back these up and put them back on after i reformat? or will this just bring the virus along?

also, how do i avoid spreading it? is it safe to email and instant message?

Try using this removal tool from http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ it is called Parite B. If your computer is not to far gone you should be able to recover from this attack.

I'd wait on the reformat for now, visit
www.symantec and type in the virus name
in their SEARCH bar and then follow the removal directions. Pretty easy.
