Have just got virus in e-mail as attachment from spurious e-mail address (address as if from my ISP provider) w32.mydoom.bu@mm
Okay I slipped up and Norton internet security 2004 didn't see it either. I think I've removed it as I used Nortons fix-it on their site. Trouble is, my system when booting up and desktop opens, there's a window pops up saying norton security drivers not loaded. When I open up Norton the anti-virus shows as being on but the firewall doesn't appear to be. I can't re-set the fire wall as it says I haven't administrator rights (norton admin not windows). I have also tried to delete norton in add/remove to start again. It again says no admin rights.
All avenues to log on to admin in norton seem to be unavailable or greyed out.
Am now stumped for ideas - could anyone please shed some light on this as I don't want to have to re-format drive.

Fingers crossed and thanks in advance.
JerryH

Thanks jabuck.
Have just looked at the link you've added - wow, some amount of info there. I've printed it off and the various links to other pages from my work pc. Will try that out tonight when I get home. Will keep you posted.

Cheers

Jerry
