My Great uncle's computer keeps sending me emails that say Re: in the subject.
text of the body is
>fotogalary and Music
there is an attachment calledMusic_MP3.com Music_MP3.com (23k)
If you click on the email Yahoo detects the worm as the following:
File name: Music_MP3.com
File size: 23kb
File type: application/octet-stream
Scan result: Virus "W32.Beagle.AG@mm" found. The file attached to this message was infected with a virus that we were unable to clean. You can not download this attachment.
Note: Not all viruses can be cleaned. Please contact the message sender and request that they send you a virus-free version of this attachment.
He runs AVG free , symantic, and Spybot weekly but none of them detect the worm. I know spybot isn't a antivirus but he uses it for spyware. All those programs are up to date.Any tips i can send him on removing the thing?
Thanks
Chad

I've heard of a virus that disguises itself as and MP3 file. Check the norton definitions on their site.

It looks more like a link to a mp3 site then a mp3 itself. Music_MP3.com
I'm almost 100% positive he doesn't download mp3's or anything for that matter. He only uses internet for browsing the web checking email and chatting with friends and family.

Another update I had him run this
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle@mm.removal.tool.html
and he received this after completion
W32.Beagle, Trojan.Tooso FixTool 1.8.3

did you(or he) click the link? If you didnt click the link, the virus did not download itself to your computer.

I know my computer doesn't have it but his surely has something because it keeps sending me the same email over and over at least once every two weeks sometimes more.
The program he ran also didn't detect the worm so there must be something on his computer or in his outlook express that keeps sending me a virus.I use yahoo mail only "NO Outlook Express or any other pop mail" so no matter how many times it sends itself to me Yahoo won't let you open an infected file.
I'm just trying to help him get his computer to stop sending them out.

Try getting hijack this on the infected computer(your uncles right?)and post the log on here and someone could tell you if theres a reg key or something in there thats causing it.
