Reply: (edit) thanks for your advice, i'll try booth scans, however i have heard concerns anout the kaspersky scanner. i really wanted to know if anyone else has encountered this file cause i'm not sure that it is a virus, i believe it may be a false pickup by avast, but i'm not willing to take the chance. If anyone else knows wether it is malicious or not please let me know.
Thanks

Reply: (edit)Reply: My Avast 4.6-although updated daily suddenly told me that I was infected with Vibpack(the spinning globe had stopped and the Virus Chest disabled)in file C/Program Files/winupdate/winupdate.exe A startup scan by Avast got rid of Vibpack-which had spread to System Restore, and Pagefile. My question is-how did Avast and Microsoft Spyware not stop this worm from getting onto my PC in the first place
