I have tryed a full uninstall (made sure it was off) and reinstalling it but i get the same error! I cant install a newer version because theres not one and i cant afford the good one. I have ad-aware and i deleted some stuff (without backing up, DOH) and since then I get the error. Can anyone help?

Its the free version, My internet locked up when I uninstalled it the last time so I had to reinstall it and do a couple of things by zone alarm intructions, but now zone alarm doesnt work, I disabled in through msconfig and had to go into safe mode and delete vsdata95, now when I try and run it I get an Iexporler error that wont go away till I manualy shut down the PC!

Thanks again,
Greg

vsnom.exe is not zonealarm, it is part of your operating system.

VSMON is a KEY component of Zone Alarm and can be a real pain in the arse...Other than OS issues will also block you from viewing secure sites on the internet.

VSMON is not a OEM OS File.

I just tried to defrack or optomize my C:\ drive, using Norton Defrack Utility. It will not optomize the drive just sits there doing nothing. First time this has ever happened! I ran Task Manager and I noticed that my CPU Usage is at 100%. Then I noticed that the VSMON.exe was running at 99%. Are these two cases related. If so what is the solution to this problem. I am running the latest ver of ZoneAlarm. Please someone get back to me if you know of a solution to this problem. Thanks, Chucklink

Disable the "MailSafe Protection" scanner within Zone Alarm, and the problem should go away. This is a KNOWN issue, especially when Zone Alarm's MailSafe protection is enabled, and Norton Ant-Virus and/or McAfee Anti-Virus also have their Email scanners enabled. Hope this helps....
