I had a backdoor virus that got in between updates--got the info and got it cleaned up, but the problem that tipped me off still remains--a shadow across the screen wherever there is text or a text box. Graphics display fine, just text is screwed up--legible but annoying. I updated the video drivers but it made no difference. A friend suggested I reinstall Windows. Any ideas?

While I cant offer much help.. :( Just my opinion.. Iv never heard of this, but would agree with your friend and reinstall Windows, then start clean and take the appropriate actions to make sure this doesnt happen again.
