COULD THE NEW BLASTER VIRUS CAUSE THIS?On 2 (non system admins)of my 4 windows user accounts, when trying to open the internet, a box comes up saying "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" it says : "Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe The application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info" . On my other 2 windows user accounts the internet works fine. What does this mean and how can i fix it. Help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried scanning your machine for viruses? That should immediately tell you if the blaster virus has infected anything. If a virus scan shows nothing, it could be just one of the (many) bugs in IE.
Here's a quote I found that I like to tell people with problems in IE:
"You're using a Microsoft browser on a Microsoft network, with a Microsoft operating system... and you expect it to work?"
Hehe, all in good fun. ;)

Check "Add & Remove Programs" for any Ad or Spyware and remove. Next run a Adware and Spyware removal tool such as "Spybot Search & Destroy." See link below:

I have exactly the same problem. I think it came in after eAnthology tried to install itself. Worse, though, Explorer is also affected as well as IExplorer, so that if a non-administrator user clicks on My Computer, for instance, the same error message appears and after clearing it all icons on the screen disappear!
This under Windows 2000.
My virus checker is up to date and Spybot found and removed a pile of stuff but the effect is still there.

Hello! I had the same problem (could not start Internet Explorer, Explorer and the "Systemsteuerung" (Control Panel) in the Guest account - same Error Message), but then I found a way to solve it. In the folder "Program Files" (in my case it was "Programme" because I've got the German Version of Windows XP), I found a strange folder called E2G. I did not know where I got the program and I cannot remember that I installed it. So I looked into "Software" in the "Systemsteuerung" (Control Panel). There I found a program called E2Give (it has also got a website ... http://www.e2give.com). I simply removed this program and the problem was solved. I hope this helps you ...

I had the same problem and tried a few different things, I ended up going to add and remove programs and removing any Java programs installed. Once I did that I didn't have any more errors, even after revisiting the pages that I was getting the errors on.
