New laptop with Vista. I have always used zone alarm so donwloaded and installed that on it and disabled the windows firewall. Was that a good thing to do? I mean in XP I had heard the firwall was not that great but don't know anything about vista.

Also what is windows defender? Do I need that running if I have the zone alarm? I just want to make sure I don't have to firewalls running. Mary
