alright everyone...
something's up with my computer, and i dont know how to identify and get rid of the item or person that is doing it to me - any help would be really appreciated.
the other day, for no apparent reason, i was sending someone a message, and the reply screen started flooding with the letter 'h', and my mouse cursor started moving around a lot more sluggishly and jerky - i tried restarting my laptop, but nothing changed.
sometimes when i turn it on it starts up with this problem automatically, other times it may only kick in after around 5 minutes.
i use mozilla firefox as my internet explorer (i understand some other people have been experiencing problems with this), and have mcafee internet anti-virus software, but that didn't detect anything. i paid a subscription to 'spyware doctor' which highlighted a trojan plus other malicious cookies on my computer, but after removing these the problem still persists, and now i can't even shutdown properly because it just stays on the 'windows is shutting down' page.

so, any field which you can enter text into (e.g. a search box in an internet explorer, using a messenger service, writing an e-mail or a word document) just gets flooded with the letter 'h'. plus, any list i go on (e.g. the windows 'start' menu or a drop-down menu) goes to and selects the option with the first letter of 'h' - therefore it is obviously impossible to navigate around my computer properly.

I also connect to the internet via a wireless network connection, and I have heard too that this is quite an easy way to access someone elses computer.

Any help, suggestions of software to download or commands to run, would be really really appreciated.
thanks in advance, danny.

Could be a keyboard problem. Do you have access to a USB keyboard so you can try that?

Also, people seem to believe that firefox is safer than IE, but as more and more people started using it, Firefox is getting targetted much more lately.
If your critical updates are uptodate and you have SP2 installed, IMHO I believe that IE is quite secure. I use both browsers, but still prefer IE myself.

If the only spyware program you use is Spyware Doctor, you should try some other freebies like:
Spybot S&D and be sure to immunize
Spyware Blaster
Adaware SE
and probably run a free Active X
On-line Spyware Scan
and remove all it finds.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

I believe you have a stuck key on your keyboard.

Try turning your laptop upside down and gently run you fingers across the keys like you are scaling a piano, in other words, with the backs of your fingers.

Then carefully use a can of air to blow out any loose debris.

Of course this is all done with the computer off.

Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.
