Virus/spyware won't let me open anything!

Specs: Windows 7

Hi, I think I have spyware on my laptop and it will not let me open any programmes. It keeps coming up with a fake virus thing asking to scan my computer and I've already tried 'Malwarebytes' but it won't let me open it. I can't go on the internet to download anything either. Please help!

nehasuthar, Try renaming your mbam.exe file to mbam.com then try to run it. You'll find the file in your C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" folder.

Running one of rkill first to kill the baddy then run Malwarebyes all 3 files are the same program just some malware will block .exe or .com so you mite need to try more then one to get it to run.

nehasuthar,

As requested by mikelinus, providing us the name of the fake scanner would help. There are several, and, may infect the system in different ways.

PAUL, i mean no disrespect btw. if you have an option to aquire a new copy of rkill, and malwarebytes, and run those in safe mode, its an excellent plan.

to Barbiecap, this is probably a fake alert, what does the pop up window bar say, or is in a fake antimalware?
