My Computer has been going exceptionally slow lately. To the point where the pictures won't load and I'll just get the red "x" instead. I have cable, by the way. I've cleaned out the files that I don't need and all that. But I think I might have a Virus or Spyware on my computer. I use Ad Aware and it deletes the spyware, but the computer is still acting the same way. After I use Ad Aware, it'll say that there was an error in Explorer and everything will sort of... disappear except for the background and the Ad Aware program. But then it'll flicker back. I have no idea what's going on, but it's really starting to concern me. Also, the online virus scans that I use never seem to load. They always say "error".

Help?

What firewall and antivirus program do you use? Have you empptied your temp internet files, turned system restore off, restarted the computer and entered the safe mode and then used your antivirus scan while in it?

Go to www.download.com and look up Spyware Doctor or SpywareBlaster. Download and install, then scan. Also scan for viruses with McAfee.

If that doesn't work, you can go on Safe Mode and maybe system restore to a point where your computer was workin fine. Also do a disk cleanup and maybe a defragmentation if necessary.
