Comment:

been getting this netd32.exe virus since yesterday [11/9/03]. The virus is being detected AND deleted by McAfee [av scanner] but it keeps coming back - not 100% sure if its the same virus other people have had though?

The virus found by mcafee is called: W32/Sdbot.worm.gen.b

and affects / infects: C:\WINNT\system32\netd32.exe

Any help appreciated!

[cant find any info on the net yet, tried CA, NAI, Symantec, google etc].

thanks.

McAfee must be missing a file, the latest variants of Sdbot seem to use two files.

Download, unzip and run HijackThis. When the scan is finished, click save log and copy and paste it in a reply.

HijackThis!

I have exactly the same problem, and McAfee online support couldn't help. Please alert me if you have a solution. But will try as you suggest later.
