I have a virus on my computer, W32.pinfi. I have tried to get rid of it with the restore turned off and am unable to delete the files PINF when you get to location by using "regedit" because there aren't any that say PINF. I have the virus in two differnent places on my computer
C:\WINDOWS\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\Heather.ME-HLYBF9IMEDXM\Local Settings\Temp
Well, I have 25 different infected files, but there are some under windows/temp and some under each user's temp folder. I have followed directions from other sites and advice from others, does anyone have any idea as to what I can do???

This virus makes it's own temp folder which may explain why it's hidden.
See this link for Symantecs method of removal....

I too have this virus. It infected hundreds of my files!!

Anyways, just recently got Norton Anti-Virus 8.0 from a friend and cleaned it up, or SO I THOUGHT. I followed Symantec's method of removal through the registry edit and all BUT some programs of mine are acting up. Iexploer doesnt work. I have to go into Windows Explorer and then Internet Explorer JUST to browse the web. My ieexplorer.exe file no longer works.

I think this virus has done some serious damage. What can I do??!

I've tried to do all the stuff you guys say about Run to regedit but as soon as the regedit opens, it closes a second later so i cant get to the PINF files. Any other routes around this? Thanks
