When in a site recently I received notification that machine had been affected by a Trojan horse virus and could not repair. I could not delete notification but then found a tab which took me to a symatec site dealing with Tro Hor. It said to get rid of it to go into safe mode and disable xp. I checked for new downloads then ran a complete scan and no virus was detected. Has Norton repaired the problem or am I missing something? Do I need to go into safe mode etc then run full scan? Thanks team in anticipation. Brent

I am 59 yr old male from New Zealand interested in solving problems in this forum if possible.

..."could not delete notification"...?

you dont want to delete the notification itself , but the file linked in the notification,

also try ad-aware scan ,

try disabling system restore , and scan in safe mode anyways,..
