Hi, Well this is officially the biggest problem I have ever had. I got a virus on my computer (xp home, using avira antivirus, free) and now almost all .exe files are infected. The antivirus dectects almost all .exe files. Obviously right now I am using a different computer. I have reformatted 3 times but it keeps coming back. I have 3 hard drives, a external USB for music and some backup, 2 internal, 1 for my games, 1 for windows and my games. I have only reformatted my windows hard drive so far. I did it the first time, and it just came back in full force. I did it once again, and deleted EVERY file it found to be a virus from my game's exe files to Windows Calculator. I ran my scan several times to find it had no viruses on all 3 hard drives. I reformatted the windows hard drive once again and I am still finding exe viruses all over again. However, I didn't delete any of them yet. I just decided to uninstall my antivirus and everything seems to run fine, even though I know some of the exe files are a virus. Does anyone have a suggestion? I DON'T want to have to reformat all 3 hard drives, but I have a feeling that is what I will have to do. I have found a couple of sites saying that this virus ultimatly destroys your machine, but never suggested any kind of fix. I don't understand how my antivirus said it was totally virus free, and it still popped up again. Thanks so much!
