virus is shutting down my computer when running norton antivirus program. It seems as if the powerplug is pulled - it goes black in a splitsecond. An it wont turn back on until i cut the power and turn it on again.
Since i can't run norton i have no idea what virus i have.
¨My motherboard is brand new and is working fine in every other instance.
better to regret something you did than something you didn't do.

Turn off your computer and turn it back on again.
Before you see the Windows XP loading screen (with the blue loading bar), repeatedly tap the F8 key. Use the up and down arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press ENTER.
If you manage to get into Windows, check whether the same behaviour occurs. If it doesn't you can try and remove the virus with Norton AntiVirus. BTW: it would be more helpful if you post the name of the virus since we can give you more specific directions.

Boot and shut down Norton AV; if you have Firewall, keep it running if the virus permits.
Jump on the net, go to Trend Micro's online virus scan, and perform a free online scan of your machine. Hopefully the virus is not sophisticated enough to recognize what is happening. If you can do this, PC Cillin will nail it online.

When I connect to internet, warning window appears telling me that the computer will shut down automatically in couple seconds and to save my files immediately. Then, it just shuts down.
Wut's happening?? How can I fix this?
I tried to system restore my comp. But it wouldn't work, everytime it says "system restore" is incomplete.
Please help n email me thanks heaps
