tap f8 on boot up and select safe mode. Click on the administrator account. Then go into the control panel and users. remove the password from your account and reboot.

but when i try safe mode, it still asks me for my password. [btw my account is the only one AND it's admin] there's an option beneath it that says reset password, but it tells me that i need to inert a password reset DISK to do it.

I've never seen a message like that, sounds bogus to me , sorry. It will probably invite all the password spammers to reply...but don't forget...those password reset disc do NOT work...they will just take your money.

Actually what I previously meant was, when you choose safe mode, if you didn't put in a password for that, leave it blank and it will allow you in.
From what i understand is that you have a user and a password, I don't mean to choose that one
