I have looked at other posts regarding this but hasnt worked for me.

I believe I have the Smitfraud virus as it keeps coming up when I run Spybot, as well as Win 32 Agent or something similar. However, when I've tried quite a few of the removal techniques, I can't install some parts because the computer won't open the folders. Sometimes it does. I have no connection to the Internet and cannot open Norton. I have used CCleaner, Spybot, Smitfraudfix etc and none have worked yet.I can provide a Hijack This! log if it helps. Also noticed I have quite a few processes that won't end at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I read somewhere on this forum, they got rid of smitfraud by using spybot in safe mode.

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

A small tip I read somewhere about using Hijack This!. To be even more effective: rename the executable file.

Say the original name on your hard disk is HijackThis.exe, then rename it something like hjt.exe.

I read that a few home page hijackers recognize the original software's name and hide from it. Whereas they don't recognize it when it's renamed.

Hope it helps to uncover a few more hidden files for you.

1st, you must kill the process first, use external task manager as iknowprocess, kill the program that you think that the virus. after that maybe you can open your nortan back..

Important: Create a specific folder on your hard drive called HijackThis to keep its backups.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HijackThis. Download and unzip HijackThis.exe into this folder.

I have been trying to try fix this myself and still no avail. Unfortunately I dont have the time at the moment to try learn any extra ways of trying to fix this problem. It appears that I have Win32.Agent.pz and Smitfraud which seem to be linked together but no fixes in sight on the net. If I post a HiJack this log, can anybody read it and offer a solution because this is driving me insane, thanks
