I am having trouble getting my pc to start up. It asks me to choose a way to start up [safe mode, last known..., start normally]. Neither of the options work, they just hang when I select one of them. Then when I insert the WinXP disk, it does not want to boot from disk, just hangs, or reads "boot from cd:" then some jibberrish using symbols instead of letters.

I tried booting using the Hirens Boot CD, but i get the same result as the WinXP cd.

Any help...I am extremely frustrated

Thanks,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Sounds like the mobo, memory or HD.

With the power UNPLUGGED, disconnect all drives and try again.

Any gibberish?

If so, reseat RAM and video.
