Recently I've gotten what I'm pretty sure is a virus. Whenever I try to update a program or download an entirely new program, I am unable to access the internet with either. A month ago a had no problems with this, but I do a lot of downloading so I haven't the slightest clue when it came to be.

Since it blocks internet access to new or updated things, I haven't been able to use much anti-virus programs simply because they can't access the internet while installing. Norton Internet security doesn't work anymore because it was updated and now when I try to use it, it says the exe is missing. Also, another program, Super antispyware free addition mysteriously causes the computer to automatically restart when doing a search for anything bad. My guess would be a virus' defense.

I'm so confused and it's frustrating not being able to update anything or play anything online. Is there anything I can do?
