i have an acer travelmate 4200 laptop that runs xp. i downloaded norton antvrs 2008 which ironically was a virus. my slow pc finally allowed me to remove norton with nrt. error message i receive is CVSHOST.exe my system refuses to perform a restore although i have points and i am unable to boot into safe mode(s) as when i do the system starts over again. i can still run my mozilla but have tons of penis growth ads on every page i view. i am desperate pls help. ps when i try to download adaware i am redirected to page not found. i dont have ie explorer only use firefox. my bitcomet doesnt work as a result as well. i also have no more sound icon in my bottom right tray....it's not existent when i looked for it. i am new here and have searched for an answer but to no avail....i have also ran a scan using anti vira please help me and may god bless you.

thanks maksimog in order to access safe mode i restored the original factory settings with acer's e recovery system. i used the malware program and installed avira and adaware. just to be safe im gonna scan with eset online as well. thanks for the help

You should remove norton antivirus with the help of norton removal tools. After remove norton, you can scan your computer with super antispyware or Malwarebtes.
