Comment: awhile back i got a virus which apparently killed all my file associations
i can open files and run most exe files through task manager, but it would be great if i could actually use my programs withouth openeing up task manager, finding a file, and then finding the same file to open itself with when im asked how to open it. dougknox reg fixers havent worked, neither does combofix... help please?

Reply: (edit)i tried that and it says: cannot import c:\exefix.reg: not all data was succesfully written to the registry. some keys are open by the system or other processes i also tried #173 on the left repair the registry editor which was written succesfully and than the exefix again which had the same result as before
