RE btklwl
Hi,
My taskbar is showing "VIRUS ALERT!" next to the time. Also in there there is a flashing red cross. Multiple alerts keep popping up, directing me to websites that will fix the "virus" infection if i buy a certain program.
In "my comp", all drives have disappeared.
TAskmanager, and control panel are not accessible. Thanks again for any help.
Kajute

Heya kajute,
Thanks for following through with the last response.
Are all the problems above what your PC is still showing?
Can you run a fresh HJT log and post it please.

NO, actually. taskmanager is all good. HArd drive is back in "my comp" and VIRUS ALERT in taskbar is gone, as well as control panel back on line. It seemed MBAM worked. Thanks,

Heya Kajute,
MBAM has fixed all the malware entries that the HJT log is showing. There are only orphaned registry entries now which we will fix with HJT.
Open HJT and click on "Do a system scan only", navigate and put a check mark next to the entries shown in red below.
O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll (file missing)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {69E88049-072B-42F2-99BC-4BB7ABBB10B9} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkkli.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {ABFF3AC4-2C08-4CC8-B08B-EF7A5D00F205} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\qrfjmewi.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EDC4E7A0-8FA2-40BD-90F3-C46FBF83FCA4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\qrfjmewi.dll (file missing)
O24 - Desktop Component 0: (no name) - file:///C:/DOCUME~1/Kajute/LOCALS~1/Temp/msohtml1/01/clip_image002.jpg
Be sure to mark the correct entries as HJT does repairs at the registry level and an incorrect selection can cause serious damage to the operating system.
Your log indicates that your PC may have been hit by the Vundo trojan or variant also. I will need to see another log to ensure there is no active malware remaining on your system.
Run combofix and post the log.
Here are the instructions:
Download Combofix to your desktop.
Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop
Click here to download Combofix by sUBs
Close any open browsers and windows except for Combofix
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the entire contents of C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running it can cause the program to freeze/hang.
In some cases your Antivirus or other realtime scanner will display an alert after you downloaded Combofix or while you use Combofix, please disable your scanners, delete the copy off the desktop and download Combofix again.
Some scanners may see some combofix related components as suspicious and block or delete them. There's nothing wrong with Combofix, heuristic detection can report this false positive because of combofixs removal technique.
