virus in System Volume Information

I use AVG Virus Scan because it's free and isn't a resource hog like Norton. AVG's Resident Shield detects "Virus Trojan horse Downloader.Winshow.AB" in "C:\System Volume Information\_restore{E1354B24-AE98-4342-8F45-82FAF27F1465}\RP137\A0023268.exe" and tells me to run the virus scan to get rid of it. Sounds simple enough, but the virus scan doesn't find the virus. I can't go into the folder to delete the virus because access is denied. What do I do now?

horn1255, To get rid of any virus/virus infected files in C:\System Volume Information\_restore you must turn off System Restore then restart your computer. This will delete all files in System Restore. You can then run a virus scan which should come up clean then TURN ON System Restore again.
