Hi,
I got a hit on my nightly virus scan. Something called Backdoor Trojan has infected a file called aupdate.exe in my Windows/system32 directory. When NAV attempts to Clean it fails. When it tried to quarrantine it fails as well. Says "Access Denied". What can I do?
Try this http://www.simplysup.com/. If this trojan scan/clean does not work try entering the "safe mode" at start up and scanning with Norton. I am assuming you have emptied your temp files, and also made sure that this file in not in "system restore" files.

Aupdate.exe is not Backdoor.Autoupder. More than likely it is the parasite ISTbar.

Both Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware will remove it.
