Virus disabling Antrivirus, no task manager?

Specs: Windows XP Pro 2002
I managed to get a virus and need help removing it.

It first popped up as "windows system defender" with an icon on my desktop. I googled it and deleted all registry entries with the word 'defender'. That managed to get rid of the desktop icon.

I cannot open task manager.
I cannot open any antivirus software.
I cannot boot into safemode.
I cannot open Windows Security.
occasionally, it seems to redirect the website I click to something either completely random (ex, "Dealing with miscarriage | Momversation", not really the sort of thing I look for on the internet...) or it has redirected me to fake antivirus software websites (STOPzilla)

antivirus programs I have tried running: McAffee On Access Scan, Spybot Search and destroy, Avira, Malwarebytes, Spyware Doctor, SUPERAntiSpyware Pro.

The furthest I've gotten is with SUPERAntiSpyware. I wasn't able to scan with anything else. SuperA.S. was able to complete a scan but when I reboot to finish deleting the infected files, the program is unusable and I'm still stuck with the virus symptoms.

can anyone help me out? I'm leaving tomorrow for a conference...I hope it's gone by then.

ETA: I've found a way to open task manager..would a list of processes help? I couldn't find any that others had previously mentioned being related to this virus
