Virus disabling anit-malware/virus software

Specs: Windows Vista
I just got this virus that keeps giving me a ton of problems. It shut down my windows defender and it disables anything I install having to do with anti virus, or malware. Occasionally it will open firefox and display several blank tabs that just seem to load endlessly. It also keeps affecting windows to the point where it will emergency reboot, for example I was just getting on my computer and it says 'Problem with Plug and play device, windows needs to reboot.' There has been a few warnings like this one, but not just plug and play. And often times whenever my computer does reboot it will not display most of my startup programs, and I will have to do them manually.

edit: I finally found a program that didn't get disabled immediately from your list, trojan remover. Everything seems to be in order so far.

Ok so the virus software and such are able to work, but the crashing keeps happening. I went and searched for where it was in my system32 folder and found a log for the crashes. They all happen a little past an hour from each other, then again when it boots up about 3 minutes after the last crash, but will then wait another hour before crashing. All the logs are very similar to this

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {1F87137D-0E7C-44D5-8C73-4EFFB68962F2}. The error:
Happened while starting this command:
C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe -secured -Embedding

If anyone could help this is getting very tiring. Also whenever I start up firefox and use something like google another firefox browser will open up and display 3 tabs that load seperate web pages. I've used a trial version of symnatec norton 2010 a few times and haven't found any viruses.
