Comment:

I recently got a virus (not confirmed but I am 98% sure). It disabled the AVG antivirus running in my computer and I could not reinstall it. I unsuccessfully tried to install 3 other antivirus programs (Avast, Sophos, McAfee) but it never went through. Also, my Security Center was shut off and could not be loaded. Since I could not get rid of the virus, I ended up reinstalling my OS. I was wondering if anyone knows what virus this is, and how I could avoid it in the future. It really freaked me out.

Use Avast it activly protects your computer so it would not be allowed on your computer.

The system restore also failed. I was able to install other programs that were not antivirus.

I reinstalled my OS and my computer is fine now. I was hoping to find out how I got it in the first place so I could avoid it in the future.

I could not find anything on the Noopi virus.

Theres no documentation because no one has been able to crack it. Keep a fire wall operating and scan and double scan all files that enter your computer. Ive had the virus before and I managed to kill it with a OS repair. Ive used Avast Antivirus and Spybot S&D and so far im clean.

I think (only a guess) that I got it from a dodgy file i downloaded from Download.com
