Google for instructions on how to "Enter safe mode with networking" on your computer. Once you do, go to download.com and search for a program called "malwarebytes." Download and install that, then make sure you open it up and update it before you run it. Once you run it on your c: drive it should list any viruses or anything that it finds, and lets you delete them.

My name is JRComp, and I approve this message.

Yeah i've already done this ...along with about 6 other free malware, spayware and virus checkers ie,Avas,AVG,Windows Essentials,Comodo,RootDestroy and nothing seems to work...i've spent hours on it. What happens is when you click on an item on the desktop it just give a load of "are you sure you want to delete this file" messages...it makes it almost impossible to do the simplist of tasks. Any other idea's would be very welcome, cheers for post.

Paul, if you had mentioned what you tried in your origional post it would save the guesswork.
I would suggest you try
Trojan Remover
http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/d...
Hitman Pro
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownlo...
Those are both 30 day fully working trials, run them untill they are clean and then uninstall them in program files NOT in add/remove because their own uninstallers work better

You advised didn't find the virus ( or whatever it is) I'm at my wits end now. Not sure where to go from here. Was going to do a format but I seem to have lost my windows code so...I feel defeated !

Any other help would be very much appreciated.

I'm not sure if the program is faulty or my computer that just wont allow it?

Thanks again

1-did you follow the directions on the website?
2-Did you download combofix to the desktop 1st and then open it?

You cannot just delete combofix. You have to uninstall it correctly.

Hi. Yes I did everything to a tee but it wouldn't open. I uninstalled it using windows uninstaller and reinstalled it again. Still no luck.
