Virus causes dirt on screen

Hi, I recently found two viruses on my parents' computer: the "jhon.a macro virus" and the "w97/simba macro virus". I cannot seem to find any information on how to remove these viruses! Also, something is causing little dashes and dots to appear on the screen constantly, it looks like dirt on the screen. It is so annoying because one can hardly read what is written on the screen. In DOS mode it is impossible to operate the computer because random letters and colourful dots and dashes appear. Help! Does anyone know this virus? The operating system is Win98 and the computer is NOT connected to the internet, by the way. Judith
