I have a virus that is blocking microsoft and antivirus websites. I cannot ping it either, I am running spyhunter antivirus and malwarebytes as a scanner. The virus must also keep downloading more viruses because viruses keep appearing in the windows/temp folder. I would much appreciate someone that knows how to remove this virus.
First thing, launch System restore and try restoring to a date before this problem occurred. If that isn't on or doesn't work get the name of the fake antivirus program (on desktop or hover mouse over icon. Search Google or Yahoo with the name and there should be a couple sites that will guide you with removing it. Don't download anything they have to offer that will automatically remove it for you. Boot into safe mode and stop the processes from running and delete the files the instructions tell you to delete. If all else fails, as a last resort backup all your documents/data and reinstall windows with the cd's that came with your PC and then restore your backed up items.
Yes, I had done that. I have fixed the problem now though. I booted into UBCD4Win and used the McAfee antivirus and that detected the W32/virut.n.gen spead all through the system. I was so glad i found the problem.
