Virus blocks internet & sound sys

Im online 4200 sent/4400 bytes rec'd but i am blocked from access by a virus/hijacker that also disables my sound system. I get various messages like "the DNS Server "go.microsoft.com" cannot be found" or " the internet cannot be found". May start with changes to %system%/CIMV2 folder or new "inner HTML" page that is substituted. Reinstalled XPPro and it transfered from Old Drive, then reformatted and installed Vista Home Ultimate and Vista saved the old files under "windows.old" and the virus moved to the new program in an hour.
